Fundraise While Shopping for Everyday Family Purchases
Scrip Fundraising through Great Lakes Scrip Program
See Information Regarding Holiday Bonus Below
Do you want to earn cash while making regular household or gift purchases? You can by joining the Cutters Great Lakes Scrip Program. Scrip is the painless way to raise funds. Doesn’t require volunteers. You don’t break or exceed the family’s budget. You spend as you normally would, but use Scrip instead of cash or credit cards. Earn discounts on your purchases from GL Scrip retailers by establishing a scrip account. Take these three easy steps!
- Go to Great Lakes Scrip website, glscrip.com and open a family account.
- Monitor your checking account for two small deposits from GL Scrip. Verify the deposits and wait for your approval code.
- Submit your approval code to the Scrip Program Coordinator and your account will be activated. You are ready to go!!
The Operational Aspects of the Scrip Program are defined in the flowcharts below:
Shop with Scrip Flowchart: Overview
Shop with Scrip Flowchart : New Family Signup
Shop with Scrip Flowchart : Order Product
Shop with Scrip Flowchart : Cutters Program Coordinator processes
The Purchase Discount is deposited into the Families’ Cutters Account. Cutters members purchase the retailer gift cards at face value through the Great Lakes Scrip website or through the Cutters Scrip Coordinator. The amount of the purchase discount is then deposited in the Cutters Scrip account. The Cutters Scrip Coordinator then deposits the member’s share into their personal Cutters account. Every purchase is discounted. The value of discount will vary depending upon the retailer and the particular discounts that they may be offering at a given time. Typically, the range is from a low of 2% to as much as 15%. The retailer’s discounts are always displayed at the Great Lakes Scrip website, www.glscrip.com. Please see the comparison in the table for retailer’ discounts of 2% and 5%.

The Scrip Program has Agreements with over 500 of the Country’s Biggest Brands. The attractive feature of the Great Lakes Scrip Program is that it has agreements with over 500 of the country’s biggest brands and retailers, many of which are in the Bloomington area. Please see the Scrip Brand List at the following link: http://cutters.suso.org/wp-content/uploads/Retailer-List.pdf. You’ll find cards you can use at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, movie theaters, home improvement stores, and almost any business that accepts gift cards. Virtually anywhere you shop will accept some form of Scrip. The Club has established individual agreements with Bloomingfoods and Marsh grocery stores. The Club currently has an agreement with Kroger through the Kroger Cares Program.

The Kohl’s US Youth Soccer American Cup provides recreational youth soccer players an opportunity to experience a consistent and high quality statewide tournament in a fun, family-like atmosphere. It fosters stimulation and excitement about soccer in an effort to increase the recreational players interest in and love for the game.
We want the recreational player to feel special and have fun! The Kohl’s American Cup can achieve this by providing recreational players with the opportunity to participate in an original event outside of their normal league play. The American Cup gives State Associations another benefit to bring even more service to current members and a tool to use in increasing membership enrollment.
Nationwide, more than 65 Kohl’s American Cup events are scheduled, and one thing each of them have in common is the goal of providing all participants with the opportunity to experience a consistent and high-quality tournament in a fun, festival-like atmosphere.

The Cutters Soccer Club is excited to be holding our 3rd Annual Soccer Golf Challenge on Monday, June 16th at the Bloomington Country Club. This event helps our club raise money for scholarships, the Outreach Program, and coaching education. We are giving out nearly $35,000 in scholarships this year, and more than 15% of the children in our club are receiving some financial aid. Additionally, the Outreach Program has greatly expanded over the past year. We are providing free programming to hundreds of children in the area, but we need funding to allow for continued growth.
Each participant will go through a grueling 9-5 day filled with soccer golf in the morning and a more traditional golf scramble in the afternoon. It is always a fun, but exhausting day. There will be coaches, board members, parents, and community members taking part in this year’s event. Please consider joining us or supporting one of the participants with a tax-deductible contribution. Thanks!

Congratulations to the 03 Girls Red team for winning the Jr. Irish Memorial Day Invitational. The girls went 2-1 in their bracket before winning a rematch with Athletic Jaier in the championship game. They came from 1-0 down and sent the game to overtime before claiming a pk shootout victory that went all the way to the 6th shooter.
The 96 Boys won all three of their bracket games 2-1, 2-0, and 3-0. The competition was very strong, but the boys played some of their best soccer at the end of the season controlling the games. The championship game was a hard fought game with both teams being tired from the heat and previous games. They battled through exhaustion and played possession for the entire 80 minutes while scoring three goals and keeping a shutout. The team defended well as a whole all weekend and only allowed one goal during the entire tournament.
Congratulations to the 96/97 Girls Red team for finishing in 2nd place at the Starburst Spectacular in Columbus, OH this past weekend. They fought hard in their first three games of the tournament, winning all of their bracket games by one goal. While they lost in the championship, they never gave up, scoring on a header as time expired.
Congratulations to the 00 Boys Red team for winning the Javanon Classic the weekend of April 12-13 in Elizabethtown, KY. The team finished with a record of 3 wins and 1 tie, while only allowing one goal all weekend.
Former Cutters ’98 player Beverly Thomas and her father Jeff, who was most recently coach of the ’02 girls team at Cutters, have landed on their feet in Melbourne, Australia. Jeff is coach of the South Melbourne Women’s Football Club U16 team, and coordinator of Junior Football for the club. He’s coaching his daughter for the first time since, he thinks, she was under 7 and playing Cutters Community Soccer.
SMWFC won their pre-season tournament this weekend, winning the final 6-3 and with Beverly scoring a goal in each of the last three games of the tournament. Jeff describes his team as “probably able to give either of the local Bloomington high school teams a run for their money.” He’s borrowed from Cutters RMA training methods which are new to Australia and also organized set plays for his team, which he said not many local youth teams bother to do and “we are causing chaos on almost every attacking corner as a result.”
Beverly and her siblings Gavin and Melissa all attend the same (six-year) high school in Elwood, Victoria. They proudly wear their Indiana, Cutters and Bloomington soccer shirts around town, although both SMWFC and the local Brighton Soccer Club Gavin and Melissa play in blue rather than the familiar red they have only ever known before.

The Cutters Soccer Club will be hosting the Inaugural Cutters Charity Casino Night on Saturday, March 29th from 6:00-10pm at the Liberty Ball Room & Banquet Center, located at 2100 Liberty Drive.
Tickets can be purchased prior to March 5th for $45 each. Starting March 6th this will increase to $50. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $55. Proceeds of this event will go to the Cutters Outreach Program. The Outreach Program is a free soccer program that currently serves over 300 children ages 6-18. Outreach serves children enrolled in summer and after school programs through all three locations of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monroe County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Monroe County Community School Corporation School Age Care Program, and programs offered through area churches and smaller groups. Outreach also serves children who participate in the Cutters TOPSoccer Program. TOPSoccer provides young athletes with special needs the opportunity learn and play the game, but more importantly enables them to become valued and successful members of the soccer community. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $4,500.00 through this event.
The event will include gaming such as black jack, craps, and roulette. Everyone who purchases a ticket to the event will be given “funny money” in the form of casino chips. Additional chips can be purchased if you run out. At the end of the night you will be able to exchange your chips for raffle tickets. We will have many prizes available that you will have an opportunity to win through the raffle. There will be food provided for all attendees, as well as water and soda. There will be a cash bar for beer and wine.
This event is open to the general public, so we hope you will consider inviting friends, neighbors and family members who may not be directly involved with Cutters. In order to make this event a success, there is a significant need for volunteer support. To see all the volunteer opportunities and to signup, please click on the link below:
